On June 16, 2020, a delegation from the Zhytomyr Polytechnic consisting of its Rector, Vice-Rectors, Dean and influential students visited the Central Office of the “INFOTECH” in Kyiv to get acquainted with the company’s work, meet key members of staff, and sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.
This event took place following preliminary negotiations between the Director of the State Enterprise “INFOTECH”, Andriy Tymoshenko, and the Rector of the “Zhytomyr Polytechnic” State University, Viktor Yevdokimov. This partnership foresees the involvement of IT students in the hands-on production practice at the enterprise, their participation in the development of software products and projects by the ‘INFOTECH”. Such involvement includes technical testing, scientific research, as well as engagement of the leading specialists of the enterprise in teaching speciality disciplines at the University.
Director of the “INFOTECH”, Andriy Tymoshenko, opened this event by introducing priorities of the enterprise, its goals and their significance at the national level, as well as the unique experience gained by the specialists involved in these projects. He assured that a State-owned IT Company currently is a stable and promising employer able to offer its specialists interesting professional tasks and challenges. After all, under the conditions of national digitalization, government agencies have become some of the most active customers and they request the most progressive solutions from the IT industry. He also named key areas in which it will be possible to involve students and described the prospects offered by each of them.
In conclusion, Andriy Tymoshenko expressed his desire to make the process of cooperation as productive as possible for both parties involved and announced an upcoming visit of the “INFOTECH” to “Zhytomyr Polytechnic” State University on July 19, 2020, promising to bring with him a detailed presentation on each of the competencies.
In continuation of the event, the floor was given to the Rector of the “Zhytomyr Polytechnic” State University, Viktor Yevdokimov, who emphasized the importance of this cooperation and described products offered by the “INFOTECH” as being unique, since such initiatives are not merely confined to the education of high-level professionals but also enables them with real opportunities and thus with the desire to remain in Ukraine after graduation from the University to support the national IT industry.
With introductions out of the way, the “INFOTECH” Software Architect, Maksym Sokhatsky, gave a detailed lecture on the Erlang programming language that he, as a developer, uses for his work on the digital document management software “MIA: Document Management”. He drew attention to the fact that it remains undeniably relevant today and called on students to study and apply it in their practice.This topic resonated well with students, after the lecture Maksym answered their eager questions in detail and demonstrated them the process of the real software testing, promising to bring even more practical cases for them to their meeting in Zhytomyr.
The “INFOTECH” Deputy Director, Roman Mashkin, also addressed the guests. He emphasized the unique and global nature of the government projects and orders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (as the governing body) that the company currently has in development. Special attention was given to the Unified Information System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs administered by the “INFOTECH”. He noted that currently, it serves the State as a universal solution for obtaining information and for data exchange since it compounds and structures information from different information resources from around Ukraine. As part of the cooperation, students will have an opportunity to join this extremely challenging area of work.

The parties agreed that such events are capable of influencing and developing both the national education sector, enabling it to transfer practical and relevant knowledge to future professionals, and the Ukrainian IT sector since students have the opportunity to participate in real, functioning projects and, having graduated from the University, would be able to join the enterprise as its employees.
