Who builds the future: the path of veterans in business

Recently, an event entitled "Who is building the future? The path of veterans in business" was held, organised by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine with the assistance of UNDP Ukraine and financial support from the Goverment of Lapan provided as part of the "Transformative Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine" initiative. 

SE INFOTECH team joined the event to gain valuable experience from colleagues and discuss how employers can support veterans in returning to civilian life and integrating into the work environment.  

During the event, speakers shared successful case studies and focused on key aspects of veteran business development, including: 

• creating equal opportunities for veterans in the business enviroment 
• mentoring support and educational programmes 
• the role of public and private partnerships in developing veteran initiatives 
• the importance of supporting veterans in realising their entrepreneurial potentional 

Such meetings help to share the understanding that veteran business isn`t only about recovery, but also about development, innovation and leadership. They emphasise how important it is to find and individual approach to each veteran employee. 

We are convinced that supporting veterans is an important component of sustainable development of society and business. We are sincerely grateful to the UN Global Compact in Ukraine for organising and hosting this important social event and to the speakers for their inspiration and practical ideas!
