Single weapons registry: stability, security, and development

Single weapons registry: stability, security, and development

On January 28, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine held a meeting with businesses operating in the field of weapons circulation. The central topic was the development of the Unified Weapons Register. This is a state-run digital system that has already changed market rules and made licensing procedures transparent and understandable.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, businesses and SE INFOTECH, the developer and technical administrator of the Register. During the discussion, participants shared their practical experience of working with the register. This dialogue became the basis for planning further changes, development and improvement of interaction between the state, business and citizens who own weapons.

In his speech, Maxim Khimchenko, director of the Enterprise, focused on the quality of the system`s performance and the Enterprise responsibility as administrator for the stability and sustainable development of the system, emphasizing:

"The Unified Register of Weapons is a critical state IT system. It operates daily in industrial mode, ensures legally significant actions, and guarantees the transparency of processes. Our basic principle is that stability is more important than the speed of change. The Register's data is the foundation of the system."

The issue of security was discussed separately. The Register operates in a secure environment, with strict control over user access and actions. This is another key condition for trust in digital procedures.

An important aspect is the evolutionary development of the system. According to Maxim Khimchenko: “... during the period of operation, hundreds of changes and improvements have been implemented, most of which were initiated by the users of the system, so this format of meetings and cooperation with the market gives an effective impetus to development, shapes state capacity and openness.”

SE “INFOTECH” will continue to ensure the stability of the Registry, data protection, and predictable development of functionality in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and business.
