Today, new services for registered firearm owners officially launched in the Diia app. The new features will provide citizens with quick and convenient access to information without having to visit government agencies.
What services will be available in Diia?
The new functionality is integrated with the Unified Weapons Register (UWR) and includes:
- A service for obtaining information about one's own weapons – users will be able to view all registered weapons that belong to them.
- A service for searching for all permits issued to a person – provides access to information about all permits issued to a citizen in the field of weapons circulation.
- Service for obtaining an extract from the UWR – allows you to quickly download an official digital extract without visiting any institutions.
- Service for obtaining information for verification by a unique electronic identifier (QR code) – provides the ability to quickly verify data on permits and weapons.
How to use the new services?
There is no need to update the Diia app—the new features are already integrated and available. Users can activate them in a few steps:
- Go to the “Documents” section.
- Click “Add documents” → “Weapon permits.”
- The system will send a request to the UWR, searching for permits and weapons by the user's RNOKPP.
- After the search is complete, the user independently chooses which documents to display in their gallery.
- Select the required permit in the document gallery.
- Click on the three dots → “Extract of the firearms permit.”
- Confirm the order.
- After processing the request, the extract will appear in the “Ordered extracts” section.
- Scan the unique QR code on the document.
- Obtain official information about the permit holder and its validity.
How will this change things for citizens?
The new services will greatly simplify access to official information about weapons and reduce the bureaucratic burden on gun owners. All necessary data will be available in digital format, eliminating the need to visit government agencies, reducing the risk of losing paper documents, and providing convenient control over one's own permits.
What does this mean for the country?
The digitization of weapons registration will contribute to increased security and transparency in the field of weapons control. It will minimize fraud, increase citizens' trust in state registries, and ensure an effective mechanism for interaction between citizens and government agencies.
The launch of the service is the result of effective cooperation between the State Enterprise “INFOTECH,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the State Enterprise “Dіia,” which is another step in building a digital state and modern e-government.
